Madrugada guitarist is dead
Here is Madrugada's Press statement:
"Our beloved friend, Robert Burås, passed away 12.07.07. He was 31 years old.
Robert dedicated his life to the music. He was the guitarist and songwriter in Madrugada for 12 years. This last year he spent on his own band My Midnight Creeps, in addition to writing new songs and recording a new Madrugada-album.
Robert passed away when he was at the peak of his craft. Through his work on albums, stages abroad and at home he has left his mark on Norwegian rock history.
All those who worked with Robert will remember him as a generous and warm human beeing who lived and breathed for the music. There are many of us who loved Robert and is having a tough time now. Robert Will always be a part of us, and will always be missed.
Our thoughts go out to his family. We ask that his family and friends will get some peace in their grief."
This is so sad. Madrugada was one of the best bands not only in Norway, but the world, at least to me.
Here is their official site.

this is the best sentencing EVER!!!
The 20 year old American Andrew McCormack had been charged with theft in Montana, and was told to meet in court in the start of February. When asked to fill in a form about how hard a punishment he himself thought he should have Mr McCormack counted on his charms and simply wrote "in the words of The Beetles: Let It Be".
Turns out that wasn't too smart, seeing as the Judge that day, 56 year old Gregory Todd was a a devoted Beatles-fan who then took it upon himself to educate McCormack in both how to spell the bands name as well as The Fab Fours discography.
Here is the full verdict :
«Mr McCormack, you pled guilty to the charge of Burglary. To aid me in sentencing I review the pre-sentence investigation report.
I read with interest the section containing Defendant's statement. To the question of «Give your recommendation as to what you think the Court should do in this case», you said, «Like the Beetles say Let It Be».
While I will not explore the epistemological or ontological overtones of your response, or even the syntactic of symbolic keys of your allusion, I will say Hey Jude, Do You Want to Know a Secret?
The greatest band in rock history spelled their name B-e-a-t-l-e-s.
I interpret the meaning of your response to suggest that there should be no consequences for your actions and I should Let it Be so you can live in Strawberry Fields Forever.
Such reasoning is Here, There and Everywhere. It does not require a Magical Mystery Tour of interpretation to know The Word means leave it alone.
I trust we can all Come Together on that meaning.
If I were to overlook your actions and Let It Be, I would ignore that Day in the Life on April 21, 2006.
Evidently, earlier that night you said to yourself I Feel Fine while drinking beer.
Later, whether you wanted money or were just trying to Act Naturally you became the Fool on the Hill on North 27th Street.
As Mr Moonlight at 1.30am, you did not Think for Yourself but just focused on I, Me, Mine.
Because you didn't ask for Help, Wait for Something else or listen to your conscience saying Honey Don't, the victim later that day was Fixing a Hole in the glass door you broke.
After you stole the 18 pack of Old Milwaukee you decided it was time to Run For Your Life and Carry That Weight.
But when the witness said Baby it's You, the police responded I'll Get You and you had to admit that You Really Got a Hold on Me.
You were not able to Get Back home because of the Chains they put on you.
Although you hoped the police would say I Don't Want to Spoil the Party and We Can Work it Out, you were in Misery when they said you were a Bad Boy.
When the police took you to jail, you experienced Something New as they said Hello Goodbye and you became a Nowhere Man.
Later when you thought about what you did you may have said I'll Cry Instead. Now you're saying Let it Be instead of I'm a Loser.
As a result of your Hard Day's Night you are looking at a Ticket to Ride that Long and Winding Road to Deer Lodge. Hopefully you can say both now and When I'm 64 that I Should Have Known Better.

I'M IN LOVE!!!
with a new artist, called Mika.
![]()
His lyrics are fun, the songs are varied and upbeat, reminds me alot of Queen and Scissor Sisters, and Beatles from their St. Peppers lonely Hearts Club Band album. I highly recommend you to go over to his Official site and listen to his songs, if you can, get a hold of "Love Today" then you'll see what I mean.
And, as the man says himself; Love, love me. ^^

I've got a jar of dirt
well Im presuming that by now you all have seen Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Mans Chest (or 2 if you prefer)
If you haven't, then this post IS NOT FOR YOU, unless you dont mind spoilers.
Captain Jack needs ... a jar of dirt, for safety reasons, and here is a hilariously funny video, based on a place in the movie where he says "I've got a jar of dirt, and guess whats inside it". Thats all, the music, has ben edited in by the personw ho made the video, and the film quote is sampled, and the film itself is looped and cutted. I do not take any claim as to having made this video, I only found it. Enjoy.
" I've got a jar of di-irt, I've got a jar of di-irt, I've got a jar of di-irt, and guess whats inside it!"

the films intro and the song Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band at the very end of the clip.

Erasure
Erasure is one of the funniest bands I've ever seen. They do dance music, are from Britain, have been going strong for at least 16 years I think, and I love them. Oh and they are gay.
Here are a few select videos of theirs. Enjoy.^^
Take A Chanse On Me (remake of ABBA)
Too Darn Hot ( Erasure recorded this song for the AIDS benefit album Red Hot + Blue, a tribute to songwriter Cole Porter).

Meet Schnappi : Die Kleine Krokodil.
I nominate this song as idiot euro-trash song of the year, sorry Joy. Its a cute little song, but when heard everywhere, as dance- rave- trancemix, it gets outta hand, and gets the title, in my opinion.
The song is a nursery song, that 4 year old Joy Gruttman from Cologne, Germany have made into a hit.
See why, here
Scnappi even has his own website now.
Don't say I didn't warn you. And, its my sons new favourite song, so I have to play it all day!!!
ARRRRRGH!!!!

Weee hee heee, gotta love the 70's man.
so, because norwegian newspaper VG said this was voted as the worst 70's music video ever, the danish newsmagazine Ekstra bladet have gotten offended.
The guy is dane Tommy Seebach who made a video of The Shadows song "Apache" and the danish mag took the norwegian critique hard and says " the danish-norwegian war is on again."
Judge for yourself. ^^
And Here is some more great music!! XD ( i can hardly keep my face straight typing this...)
And; if you, like myself, have enjoyed playing a game of Zelda from time to time, Im certain, you'll find this fun... even if you don't understand japanese... WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, Oh, ooh, I can't breathe, I can't breathe..... ^^

Living up here Vs. concerts
Don't get me wrong, I love living in Vadsø. It's truly the best place in the world.
(I could get quite lyrical about it, but that will have to be another post)
No, the thing that troubles me is that very seldom the great bands and artists such as U2, Madonna, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran and the likes visit Norway when on tour. Usually they go to Sweden instead. Now, on those rare occations they do come to Norway, I cannot afford to go see them. this is due to three things.
1) flying across the country and back will cost me around 2500 NoK
2) buying the ticket will cost me anything from 200 up to 6500 Nok
3) a place to stay will be anything from 1000 Nok
now, if we add it up, we'll see that it'll amount to 10 000,- Nok!!! and that is far FAR to much, no matter how much I like the artists.... so, I'll probably never go to a concert, and seeing as our only music store went belly up before easter, Im all for downloading songs.

Hit Me Baby One More Time
No, nothing about miss Twat, but I thought I'd tell you about this new tv show, called Hit Me Baby One More Time.
It's apparently a bit like "Idol" but with pop-stars from the 80's and onward. go here and read all about it.
Just one question though; does this mean that those people singing 80's songs now on Idol and become popstars, will be on this show in ten or twenty years time?
